Private Medical Insurance
Private Medical Insurance (PMI) is created to cover the costs of eligible private medical treatment, paying the hospital or specialist directly. It can provide access to treatment in a private hospital or assist you in getting seen more quickly within the NHS.
Some policies are connected to NHS waiting times, allowing you to claim private care if the NHS cannot treat you within a designated period. Other plans function independently of NHS waiting lists.
When you apply, you will usually be asked medical questions. This process, known as underwriting, determines what is and isn’t covered from the outset. Your premiums are typically reviewable and are likely to be reassessed annually.
THE PLAN WILL HAVE NO CASH IN VALUE AT ANY TIME AND WILL CEASE AT THE END OF THE TERM. IF PREMIUMS ARE NOT MAINTAINED, THEN THE COVER WILL LAPSE.
